Croatia Airlines Workers Demand the Preservation of the Company and Responsible Management.
May 24, 2018 – At the workers’ assembly of Croatia Airlines, conclusions were adopted that employees will fight to preserve the national airline. Workers expect Prime Minister Andrej Plenković to take the situation seriously and appoint the Croatia Airlines Management Board with a full mandate, ensuring business stability.
Message from Workers to the Prime Minister
It was clearly emphasized at the assembly: “We will not surrender without a fight, we will fight to preserve Croatia Airlines.” Workers have told Prime Minister Plenković to stop playing with the destinies of employees and making irresponsible decisions while the aviation industry in Croatia suffers serious consequences. They demanded the appointment of a Management Board with a full mandate that enjoys the trust of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
Statement by Tomislav Rajković
The President of the Independent Croatian Trade Union of Aviation Employees, Tomislav Rajković, stated to Hina:
“If they are not capable of finding a management that would work with a full mandate, then they are not capable of running the country either.” This highlighted the responsibility of the ruling authorities for the future of the company and jobs.
Expectations from the Management Board
Workers expect the Management Board to act proactively, be more energetic, and respond more quickly to changes in business. They emphasize that key decisions must be made without delay, as any waiting further jeopardizes the company’s stability and the fate of employees.
Conclusion
Messages from the assembly clearly show the determination of workers to defend Croatia Airlines as a strategically important company for Croatia. They expect responsible government policies and a competent management that can respond to market challenges and ensure the future of the national airline.
