Affiliation Agreement of URSH with the Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia

The President of the Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) Mladen Novosel and the President of the Association of Croatian Trade Unions (URSH) Tomislav Rajković have signed an Affiliation Agreement of URSH with SSSH.

The agreement, among other things, establishes obligations related to promoting cooperation at the level of companies and institutions where unions from both central offices operate. It also defines the tasks that URSH entrusts to SSSH, thereby further strengthening organizational connectivity and functional cooperation.

Statement by SSSH President Mladen Novosel

“Recent history has shown that the fragmentation of unions and the fragmentation of the union scene do not contribute to better protection of workers in Croatia and their better daily lives. Today’s signing of the Affiliation Agreement between these two union centers is a big step towards bringing workers back into unity, because only through joint action in public policies, organizing union actions, education, collective bargaining, etc., can we contribute to a better life for our members.” , stated Mladen Novosel.

Statement by URSH President Tomislav Rajković

“This is the concretization of a series of events on the ground. It is the direction in which the union movement in Croatia should go. There is a need to find interest in uniting and show greater strength in stopping the trend of attacking and reducing workers’ rights. Therefore, one of the greatest interests of these two centers and the unions operating within them is cooperation and improving mutual relations.” , stated Tomislav Rajković.

By signing this Agreement, a path has been opened for joint action of union centers in Croatia. The aim of the union is to strengthen the protection of workers’ rights, improve social dialogue, and provide a stronger response to the challenges faced by workers in Croatia.
