Agreement Reached in the Mediation Process for URIHO

Zagreb, 18 July 2023 – The mediation process initiated by the Union of Persons with Disabilities of Croatia, the Union of Graphic and Media Workers, and the Union of Health, Social Protection, and Pension-Disability Insurance of Croatia due to a deadlock in negotiations over amendments to the collective agreement for URIHO has been successfully concluded.

Cause of the Dispute

The dispute arose due to differences in opinion between the Union and the Employer regarding the course of collective negotiations.
The union’s demand was to immediately increase the base for salary calculation, while the employer’s representatives proposed several months of negotiations on a new Collective Agreement with the development of a new systematization, which would mean delaying the increase in material rights.

Result of Mediation

The mediation concluded with an agreement that the employer will, from July 2023, pay all workers a monthly meal allowance of 66.37 euros net.
It was also agreed that negotiations on increasing the level of material rights will be completed by September 30, 2023.

Conclusion

The agreement reached marked the successful conclusion of the mediation and ensured an immediate material improvement for workers through the meal allowance, with a clearly set deadline for completing negotiations on the new Collective Agreement.
