Varteks Workers are Initiating a Strike Due to Unpaid Wages
Varaždin, May 2024 – The Independent Workers’ Union of Varteks has decided to initiate a strike after the employees of Varteks d.d. were not paid their salaries for February and March of this year, following an unsuccessfully concluded mediation process.
Start of the Strike
The strike will begin on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 6:00 AM and will continue until the union’s demands are met.
Union Demands
The main demand of the union is the payment of unpaid wages to the workers for February and March. The union emphasizes that this is a fundamental right of the workers and that without it, the continuation of production and work in the company is meaningless.
Conclusion
By initiating the strike, Varteks workers are sending a clear message to the Management – without the payment of earned wages, there is no return to work. The strike will continue until the union’s demands are fulfilled.
